A Moth Drawn to Light is a Solo Piano piece. This piece was written as an exploration of Arvo Pärt’s technique of tintinnabulation and was inspired by his piano work Fur Alina, a falling moth, and the Greek story of Icarus. I had been wanting to compose a piece using tintinnabulation after learning about it in my last theory class for my undergraduate degree. I thought that it was a fascinating way of composing music that I had never heard of before.
